Stir up some curiosity with a world globe

by guestpost on January 9, 2009

Among all the planets of the solar system, there is a beautiful and majestic planet that appears blue in color. Yes, that’s our very own planet, Earth. Earlier it was believed that the earth was flat, but we now know that we live on this blue and magnificent ball. What? Wait a minute! We live on a ball? A spinning  ball? Why then are we not thrown away? Now your thoughts are provoked….just at the thought of a globe! What would happen if there would really be a globe in front of you? A spinning one!  Wouldn’t it stir your thoughts further? We have asked these questions when we were kids, and have received our answers. Now it is the turn of the younger generation. Imagine the logical questions they would ask as they gazed upon a globe that has been sitting on their study table. It would motivate them to find logical answers, the same way our scientists, geologists and geometrician’s did. Every scientist was born out of a curious mind, and science was born when this curiosity got a logical answer. Imagine how many people noticed apples falling from trees since the beginning of creation? It was Newton who questioned a phenomenon as simple as this, and the concept of gravity was born. Replicas of globes are plentifully available. Gift one to your young one today. It might make him or her into a great personality.
