Do you remember how globes fascinated you as a kid? You were exited to find your own country on it, and you were amazed see its size on the globe. Your eyes scanned the 197 million square miles of surface in just a matter of few seconds. As you spun the globe around you were amused to see it rotate on its axis. You began to imagine how the earth must be rotating and revolving around the sun. You wanted to return to your scrutiny, but the time was up. You wished you had one at home. Globes can be fascinating, amusing and extremely educating. Globes give us a birds eye view, or rather a satellite view of what our very own planet looks like. Globes can be seen not only in educational institutions but in almost every office you visit. Some use them for education whereas others use them as showpieces. You even see inflatable globe balls that children play with at the beach. If you want to own one, it is not difficult. Buy one that stands on the floor, or the one meant for your desk. You can find ones for children which are illuminated. There are also talking globes which can make geography fun for children.
