Gemstone globes should be cared for very carefully. Remember, some gems do not care to be treated with a lot of water, some solvents will permanently cloud the surface of others and harsh chemicals can loosen the glue that is holding them in place. A better bet for caring for your gemstone globes is to use whatever is recommended by the manufacturer. If there are no instructions for its care, consider using the same cleansers that you use to clean your jewelry. You could also use a soft cloth dipped in a mixture of non-abrasive tooth paste, but make sure that you wipe this away thoroughly when you are done.
